World Sea Turtle Day and Father's Day
Honouring Fathers, Nature, and Sea Turtles: A Meaningful Celebration at Rosalie Bay
At Rosalie Bay Eco Resort & Spa, we believe in celebrating not only the people we love, but also the planet we cherish. This year, our World Sea Turtle Day celebrations beautifully aligned with Father’s Day weekend, giving us the perfect opportunity to reflect on the values of family, stewardship, and sustainable living.
From June 14–16, 2025, Rosalie Bay came alive with purpose and connection — uniting guests, nature lovers, and families in celebration of life on land and in the sea.
Leading Up to World Sea Turtle Day
In the days leading up to World Sea Turtle Day on June 16, Rosalie Bay hosted a series of educational and community-led activities highlighting the importance of turtle conservation. Our beachfront, a protected nesting ground for leatherback, green, and hawksbill turtles, welcomed guests and volunteers for guided hatchery tours and early-morning patrols to learn more about these incredible creatures.
Through storytelling sessions, eco-workshops, and hands-on involvement at our Sea Turtle Hatchery, both children and adults were inspired by the long journey sea turtles make to return to the shores of their birth — much like the way we return home to celebrate our roots.
Father’s Day at Rosalie Bay
On Sunday, June 15th, our Father’s Day Lunch offered a special dining experience in our poolside restaurant — a feast as rich in flavor as it was in meaning. Guests enjoyed fresh, locally sourced dishes curated by our culinary team, designed to nourish and connect families while they dined just steps away from the same shorelines where sea turtles nest.
The ambiance was warm and relaxed, with laughter and stories shared across generations. It was a beautiful reminder that taking the time to be present — with our families and in nature — is one of the most powerful acts of gratitude.
The Peace Park Photo Eco Summit
Following the lunch, guests gathered at Zamaan Restaurant for our Photo Eco Summit — a nature-focused photography experience dedicated to capturing the beauty of Dominica and Rosalie Bay’s landscapes, wildlife, and community.
We tell the stories of the earth. From shots of nesting sites to candid portraits, each image told a story of connection — to each other and to the Earth.
This summit wasn’t just about photography. It was about seeing the world through a conservation lens — learning how art and awareness go hand in hand in protecting what matters most.
Our Message of Conservation
World Sea Turtle Day is more than a date on the calendar — it’s a call to action. At Rosalie Bay, we honor this day not just with events, but through our everyday commitment to protecting endangered sea turtles.
Our eco-resort operates hand-in-hand with local conservationists, volunteers, and guests who join in the effort to protect nesting sites, reduce coastal pollution, and spread awareness about marine life protection.
The values we teach our children — respect, responsibility, and love for nature — are the same values we embody as a resort. And just as fathers guide their families with strength and compassion, we aim to guide our community toward a more sustainable future.
Thank You for Celebrating With Us
To everyone who joined us for World Sea Turtle Day, the Father’s Day Lunch, and the Peace Park Photo Eco Summit — thank you. Your presence helped shine a light on the importance of conservation and connection.
As we reflect on a weekend full of meaning, joy, and beauty, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Support local efforts. Educate the next generation. Visit again — and bring someone you love.
Let’s keep the ripple effect going — one family, one photo, one turtle at a time.
